Shabnam Curtis is the author of MY PERSIAN PARADOX, a memoir about her life in Iran and the United States. The book has been described as a synthesis of personal experience, social change and political insights both in the United States and Iran. The book is an account of immigrant experience and the psychology of integration.
Shabnam Curtis was born and raised in Tehran, experiencing the Iranian Revolution of 1979 firsthand. In 2004 she immigrated to the United States, where she now works as a project analyst and teaches memoir writing workshops. She performs lectures to colleges and universities about her book and the concept of empathy and true belonging. She lives in Virginia.
